What is Missing in Normandy?

Through your participation in group tours, self-drive itineraries, escorted tours and book purchases, you are helping to solve the "Missing" problem.

The Normandy Campaign was the first step in reintroducing democracy to Europe and

established the United States as the preeminent industrial-economic world power. In two and a half months 600,000 military and civilians were killed or wounded in Normandy.

What transpired throughout the 200 square-mile area is only known by a few military historians.

It is the objective of this website's creator and author of the trilogy "Stand Where They Fought" to establish bilingual descriptive historical markers along the roads and byways to inform the local citizens and tourists of this heritage.

We plan to install 150 "Bayonet Markers" over the next year. These will be 12 feet tall, in silver & black topped with the U.S. star. On either side will be a 200 word bilingual story board describing the events at that location in 1944.

A sponsorship program is planned for brass memorial plaques to be affixed to the Bayonet Marker.
